Our Philosophy

Our practice is dedicated to the treatment of orthopaedic injury and disease. We provide efficient and evidence-based care to pets so they can return home to their families and the activities they love as soon as possible.

We function as a Centre of Excellence for veterinary orthopaedics - to educate owners, vets, support staff and students alike.

Who we are & what we do...

Sometimes our pets get injured – either during the activities they love or by accident.

Sometimes, pets develop diseases of the muscles and bones during growth, through no fault of their own.

It’s rarely convenient.

-> But pets are an important part of our lives and deserve the care they need to heal.

First, you need to know:

-> The nature of the issue –

-> What are the possible treatment options – and which is best for your pet?

Then, you need a vet:

-> With the knowledge, skills and care to treat the injury according to the individual patient's needs.

Then the recovery begins…

-> What is your role in the recovery process?

Coast OrthoVet was born out of a need to treat injuries and developmental orthopaedic diseases of pets and has serviced the Central Coast, Hunter New England and Mid-North Coast regions of NSW since 2018 to provide the orthopaedic treatment they need.

We work closely with pet owners and referring vets to achieve a high standard of care with treatment that is most appropriate for each patient.

Surgical services are provided in a dedicated orthopaedic theatre using evidence-based techniques and patient care.

We support pets, owners and referring vets throughout the recovery process, maintaining continuity of care.

For Referring Colleagues

Some of our Patients...

Murphy - Total Hip Replacement (THR)

"Our dog Murphy was born with dysplastic hips. Both hips, unfortunately, were abnormal.

We were recommended to Coast OrthoVet, where we met Dan and his amazing team. He explained and answered all of our questions. He explained that aftercare is very important and that we play an integral role in Murphy's recovery.

Dan did an amazing job with her surgery and looked after our very timid girl.

Post op support was fantastic, I was often worried we had let Murphy do too much, but reassurance was always there.

Murphy is thriving with one good hip. Her second seems to be holding in there for now.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Dan and his team to look after your four-legged family member."

Scout - Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO)

"As a Veterinarian, I've referred many orthopaedic cases over the years.

Earlier this year, I found myself on the other side - as a pet owner, when my dog required surgery for a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament.

I turned to Coast OrthoVet, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Dan and Dané provided exceptional care, combining outstanding surgical skill with genuine compassion. Their communication throughout the entire process was clear and reassuring, making a stressful situation much easier to navigate.

The outcome of the surgery was excellent, and my dog is much more comfortable.

My partner and I are incredibly grateful for the care we received. I have complete confidence in Coast OrthoVet and wholeheartedly recommend them to my clients, colleagues and anyone seeking skilled and dedicated orthopaedic care."
